AAM’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, David C. Dauch, was named an Automotive News 2020 All Star for Supplier Innovation. The annual list of outstanding performers in the automotive industry is selected by Automotive News staffers and includes executives from automakers, suppliers and dealerships.

Dauch was named to the list for AAM’s work to develop electric drive technologies including the front and rear drive units for the Jaguar I-Pace. AAM’s electric drive technology leverages AAM’s extensive experience in the design, analysis and processing of geared mechanical systems to engineer compact, quiet and efficient drive units that meet the most demanding customer requirements.

“American Axle & Manufacturing Inc. stepped up to the plate when it was challenged by Jaguar Land Rover to create a high-performance electric driveline for the Jaguar I-Pace,” noted Automotive News. “Chief executive David Dauch led his engineers to achieve industry-leading power density with its I-Pace unit, a 2020 Automotive News PACE award honoree.”

Dauch has been CEO of AAM since Sept. 2012 and Chairman of the Board since August 2013.  He serves on the boards of Business Leaders for Michigan, the Detroit Economic Club, the Detroit Regional Chamber, the Great Lakes Council Boy Scouts of America, the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Michigan, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA), Amerisure Mutual Holdings, Inc. and the Amerisure Companies.

Dauch also serves on the Miami University Business Advisory Council, the General Motors Supplier Council and the FCA NAFTA Supplier Advisory Council.
